Since being established in 2008, the MTNA Collegiate Chapter at the University of South Carolina (MTNA at USC) is a community of pianists, teachers, and presenters at the local, state, and national level. Comprised of USC students pursuing degrees from the bachelors to doctoral level in piano performance and piano pedagogy, MTNA at USC is devoted to excellence in areas of performance, musicianship, pedagogy, research, scholarship, and outreach. Members of MTNA at USC have participated in and presented at MTNA conferences at the local, state, and national level, including events such as CMTA, SCMTA ,and the National Collegiate Chapters Piano Pedagogy Symposium. From 2012-2015, MTNA at USC has been proud to have students present at the MTNA’s national conferences. MTNA at USC holds monthly meetings, often hosting presentations by members of the USC School of Music faculty. Other activities include recital outreaches, fundraising, and event planning.
